JISC Panel Event

JISC Panel event: staff from JISC, including Andrew Mcgregor, Liam Earney, Neil Jacobs, Sarah Fahmy, Matthew Dovey, Neil Grindley, and Rachel Bruce (final participants to be confirmed)
JISC (the Joint Information Systems Committee) is the UKs expert on information and digital technologies for education and research. A group of senior staff from a range of JISC programmes will be running a seminar and discussion session for the Welsh Higher Education and Library sector at the National Library of Wales.
Strategic themes will be discussed, including the following topics:
- Data Driven Infrastructure - the re use of information across services and systems to support a more flexible and agile service infrastructure - examples might include Knowledge Base +, preservation registries, discovery services etc;
- Shared infrastructure - the areas of shared infrastructure focus on research data, information and library infrastructure, research management / repositories.
- Specific topics for discussion will include: discovery; digitisation, OER , open access; library management systems; web archiving; mobile computing.
