Overview of the collection
The National Library of Wales’ status as a legal deposit library ensures comprehensive coverage of official publications from the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. The collection includes print publications of the UK and Irish parliaments and governments, those of the devolved parliament and assemblies within the UK along with their respective governments and agencies.
The collection also includes the websites of the National Assembly for Wales, the Welsh Government, NHS Wales and various agencies and boards under their remit. The National Archives, the British Library and the National Library of Scotland are responsible for collecting web publications from the other parliaments, assemblies and governments within the UK
The Library also acts as a partial depository library for a number of international organisations including the United Nations, Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), The International Court of Justice, the International Atomic Energy Agency, International Monetary Fund, International Maritime Organisation, International Labour Organisation and the Council of Europe.
