Drych y Prif Oesoedd

Religion was a prominent theme in most of Theophilus Evans’s works and elements of the Anglican mind were particularly clear in the historian’s publications. Evans also made a conscious effort to honour and assess Welsh traditions in his historical works. 'Drych y Prif Oesoedd' is undoubtedly a biased, yet interesting report on the early history of Wales. One must recognise the author’s efforts to present the history of Wales within a separate context to that of England's, a task that had not been achieved in two centuries. 'Drych y Prif Oesoedd' is considered a Welsh literary classic.
