Why do you need my personal data?

To enable us to audit contributions made on the platform and to communicate with you regarding the service.

On what basis will you be processing my personal data?

As part of our Public Task as a National Library laid out in our Charter and other governing documents.  

Will anyone else be given a copy of my data?

The data will be stored securely on an external system within the EU by Digirati in compliance with international standards and best practice for information security management. We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our electronic communication.  These messages will be restricted to activities relating to volunteering projects (e.g. notification of new projects launched on the platform) and NOT for any promotional or marketing purposes.  We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy policy.  Your data will not be shared with anyone else outside The National Library of Wales.

When logged in to your account the system will log your contributions along with the date and time of those contributions.  This information along with your ‘Display Name’ will be visible on the platform and publically available.

How long will you keep my personal data?

Until access to the platfrom has been removed.

What happens if I do not provide the required information for registration?

We will not be able to provide access to the crowdsourcing platform.

What are my rights?

Since your data is processed on the basis of Public Task the following rights are applicable:

  2. The right of access
  3. The right to rectification
  4. The right to restrict processing
  5. The right to object
