‘A Relation of Apparitions of Spirits in the Principality of Wales’ (1780) by Edmund Jones is a compiled account of Welsh superstitions and folk law, all of which the author firmly believed in. Jones was a committed preacher, Calvinist and Evangelical, and as a result of this publication Jones was regularly referred to as ‘Yr Hen Broffwyd’ (The Old Prophet).
