A detailed account by Dafydd Iâl Jones in 1960 of the irrigation schemes from 1865 and the formation of the Camwy Irrigation Company.
A manuscript written by Dafydd Iâl Jones in 1960, giving a full history of irrigation in Patagonia. He was the expert on this important part of the history of the settlement.
On landing in Patagonia, the settlers had found that there was little water to drink or to irrigate the land. They had to quickly establish an irrigation system, building canals to irrigate an area three or four miles to each side of the 50-mile long stretch of the River Camwy, creating Argentina's most fertile wheatlands.
