Why do you need my personal data?

To allow us to reply to your enquiries and make contact if any further information is required.

On what basis will you be processing my personal data?

As part of our Public Task as a National Library as laid out in our Charter and other governing documents.

Will anyone else be given a copy of my data?

The data will be stored securely on an external system used to administer the service - currently QuestionPoint/OCLC. Data that is processed in QuestionPoint will be transferred to the United States of America where OCLC is based. The Library has a Standard Contractual Clauses agreement with OCLC to ensure adequate protection for any personal data transferred outside of the European Union. Your data will not be shared by us or them with anyone else outside the National Library of Wales. For more information, please see the QuestionPoint terms of service and OCLC's privacy policy.

How long will you keep my personal data?

For three months beyond the completion of the enquiry, after which the information will be deleted automatically by the system used to administer the Service. If enquiries are initially received on paper or by telephone,  the initial enquiry will be deleted within the year + 3 years.

What happens if you do not provide the required information supplied on this form?

We will not be able to reply to your enquiry.
