The National Library of Wales has 10 75kw EV chargers and 30 22kw chargers providing a capacity for a total of 40 EVs making the National Library the largest charging hub in Wales. The Tritium chargers will charge from 0 to 80% in about 25 minutes where as the 22kw chargers will take 3-5hrs dependant on car model. You can pay via the Payter terminal, the Fuuse app, or through your web browser on your smartphone.

How to use the chargers

Charge via the Payter terminal:

To start charging:

  1. Plug in: Plug the charging cable into your car's charging socket
  2. Pay: Present contactless debit/credit card to Payter terminal. Please refer to Payter unit for current pricing
  3. Start charging: Press the START button to start the charging session, use the MAX button to set the charging session to FULL or 80%

To end the session:

  1. Present the same payment method: Present the same contactless credit/debit card to the Payter unit or press the green STOP button to end the session

Charge via the Fuuse App:

To start charging:

  1. Search for the Fuuse App in your app store of choice
  2. Download and open the Fuuse App
  3. Connect your vehicle
  4. Scan the provided QR code
  5. Press the start button in the App

To finish charging:

  1. Open the Fuuse App
  2. Press and hold the stop button
  3. Disconnect the vehicle

Charge via browser:

Check if you can charge by scanning the QR code by using the camera on your phone

To start charging:

  1. Use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code
  2. Connect your vehicle
  3. Press the forward button in your browser
  4. Fill in the required fields, then press continue
  5. Press 'start charging'

Do not close your browser

To finish charging:

  1. Open your browser
  2. Press 'stop charging'
  3. Disconnect your vehicle
