The National Library of Wales is looking for creative individuals to lead workshops inspired by our current exhibition, No Welsh Art: Exploring the Myth with Peter Lord. This exhibition challenges the idea that there was no strong tradition of Welsh art, sparking conversations about identity, culture and creativity.
We’re inviting passionate people or organisations to design and lead workshops that focus on wellbeing and are open to everyone, especially those who may not usually have access to such opportunities. The aim is to create a welcoming space where participants can creatively explore the themes of the exhibition.
We welcome applications from all creative fields—whether your expertise is in visual arts, writing, music, performance, or other forms. Workshops could include hands-on art-making, storytelling, discussions, or sensory experiences. The focus is on fostering an inclusive environment that encourages expression and connection.
To apply, please tell us:
· Who you are and what you do, including your experience with creative workshops and engaging different communities.
· Your workshop idea, how it ties to the exhibition, and how it will be accessible and supportive of participants' wellbeing.
How to apply:
Send a short expression of interest discussing the above (max 800 words) by 14 February to communities@library.wales, including your contact details, CV or portfolio, and any specific needs for your workshop.
Successful applicants will receive £250 a day fee (1 day for preparation and 1 day delivery) and material resources from the Library to help run their workshops.
We look forward to hearing from those eager to inspire creativity and connection within the community.
