Efforts and Ideals: Prints of the First World War

A touring exhibition from Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Cymru – National Museum Wales of all 66 works from the 1917 print portfolio, The Great War: Britain’s Efforts and Ideals, which includes contributions from some of the best known British artists of the period, such as Augustus John, Frank Brangwyn, William Rothenstein and C. R. W. Nevinson. Designed to encourage a war-weary public and raise support for the war effort, they show modern political propaganda in its early stages.
