The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is noted to raise awareness of the need to eradicate any form of violence toward women. These include gender based violence resulting in psychological, physical or sexual harm, be it in public or private life.

Human Rights Day is celebrated every year globally on this day .According to the United Nations website “This date was chosen to honour the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation, on 10 December 1948, of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the first global enunciation of human rights and one of the first major achievements of the new United Nations”.
World Braille Day is celebrated to honour the inventor of Braille, Louis Braille, and the importance of braille as a tool of communication and empowerment for the visually impaired.
This day is marked to further raise awareness of the persistent issue of human trafficking and prevent its crimes globally.
