Born Gobind Das, Gobing Singh was the tenth and last human Sikh Guru. He was a poet, a philosopher, and a warrior. Among his significant contributions to Sikhism are the creation of the Sikh military order known as the Khalsa in 1699, and the completion and enshrinement of the Guru Granth Sahib as the holy book and the eternal Guru.
