International Day of Persons with Disabilities is observed internationally to raise awareness of the issues of disability and to mobilize support for persons with disabilities through various activities.
Please note that "Derwen Cripples' Training College" is used in the catalogue because it was the correct title for the name of the organisation in 1955 when the photographs were taken, however the terminology they use has changed and it is now known as Derwen College.
