National Library of Wales welcomes Wales Audit Office report
05.12.16
The National Library has welcomed a report published by the Wales Audit Office today which shows that the institution has taken significant steps towards improving its governance and management arrangements and that it is now well placed to plan for the future.
In welcoming the report the President of the National Library, Rhodri Glyn Thomas said:
"To receive such a positive and encouraging report by the Wales Audit Office, and to have public recognition for the excellent work that has been undertaken by staff and Trustees during the past two years, gives me great pleasure".
"The challenges facing the Library are common to all public bodies and we have long recognised that change is essential in order to progress and continue to provide the people of Wales with an
excellent service. What this report shows is that the Library is addressing these challenges in an effective and highly efficient way. In fact, many of the recommendations of the report are either in the process of being implemented or have already been completed.”
"The Library is now in a very good place to plan for the future".
