Looking for ideas for half term activities?

26.10.2017

Why not spend time with the family being creative whilst in a magnificent and inspirational setting?

A lino print workshop will be held during a half term week at The National Library of Wales on Thursday, 2 November from 9:30am to 12:00pm.

This is an opportunity for you to show your creative skills in the company of the artist from the Dyfi Valley, Elin Vaughan Crowley.  Come along with your children, or if you want a little ‘me time’, individuals are also welcome.  Tickets available on 01970 632 548 or events.library.wales at £12 each.

Throughout half-term week a children's treasure hunt will be available free of charge at the reception desk and the NLW Shop, with a prize to those who successfully complete the clues.  There will be a wealth of exhibitions open including Arthur and Welsh Mythology, Legends!, World of the Book and Recent Accessions, which is an opportunity to see some of the most recent treasures to the Library's collection.

Caffi Pen Dinas will be open with a variety of hot and cold foods and drinks, and tasty homemade cakes!  The Shop offers unique, well-crafted items, handmade and unusual crafts and gifts inspired by the Library’s collections.  Also available are beautiful homeware, quality jewellery hand made in Wales, toys, books, and much more.   The building is easily accessible with ample car park (car park cost can be redeemed when spending at the Shop or Caffi Pen Dinas).

Looking forward to the end of a half term week, and will possibly appeal to older pupils, a day of lectures for those with an interest in photography is held on Saturday, 4 November.  Lens 2017 is held in the Drwm from 10:00am to 5:00pm with Sebastian Bruno, Richard Jones, Christopher Webster van Tonder, Gerallt Llewelyn, Bernard Mitchell and William Troughton.  Admission by ticket at £10.
