We have over 6 million books, over 40,000 manuscripts, over 1.5 million maps and much, much more. We are a Legal Deposit Library, which means we have a right to a copy of each book published in Britain. Our main collection area is items relating to Wales and the Celtic countries, but our collections aren't confined to this.

Digital Exhibitions

Our digital exhibitions introduce a wide selection of items from our collections.

Come with us to the world of the Mabinogion in the White Book of Rhydderch, or venture down to the beach on a moonlight night to meet a smuggler. Travel with David Lloyd George to Versailles during the First World War or marvel at some of Wales' earliest photographs. The story of Wales is waiting for you.
