As part of our community engagement programme linked to 'No Welsh Art', we welcomed a range of local groups to the Library between February and July for a series of creative workshops inspired by the exhibition.
The aim was to connect with voluntary and grassroots organisations across Ceredigion that support wellbeing, creativity, and connection—particularly among communities who may not have visited the Library before. Groups who took part included Ray Ceredigion’s DYMA NI, Borth Community Hub, Headway Ceredigion, Credu Carers, and the HAHAV art and care group.
Each group received a tailored tour of ‘No Welsh Art’, followed by a creative session led by local facilitators—ranging from gentle movement and mindfulness, to drawing, collage, felting, and printmaking. The responses were overwhelmingly positive, with many participants sharing how welcome they felt, how inspired they were by the exhibition, and how much they valued the space to be creative together.
Huge thanks to all the facilitators involved, and to our ‘No Welsh Art’ Activities Coordinator, Guto Morgan, for organising the workshops and bringing such a thoughtful and joyful programme to life. It’s been a pleasure not only to see people connect with the collections—and with each other—but also to welcome so many local groups through the doors for the first time.
