The Urdd National Eisteddfod is Welsh-language youth festival held annually. Its focuses on literature, music and arts. It was established in 1922 by Sir Ifan ab Owen Edwards with the aim of promoting and protecting the Welsh language. Organised by Urdd Gobaith Cymru, it has over 90,000 people in attendance annually with 15,000 children and young people participating in its various competitions. See more in our collections below;
