The Riverside Library, Gallery and Visitor Information in Haverfordwest is welcoming a very special exhibition this spring, as part of the National Gallery Masterpiece Tour, sponsored by Christie’s.

An exciting series of events and activities are being planned to support the exhibition, including a special talk about a masterpiece painting by one of the National Gallery’s curators.

Join Laura Llewellyn, Associate Curator at the National Gallery, in a discussion on Hélène Rouart in her Father’s Study by Edgar Degas and explore with us the history of the painting itself, the techniques employed, the subject and the artist himself.

The event will take place on Saturday 14 May 2022, at 11am, at the Riverside Gallery, Haverfordwest. This is an English language event and booking will be essential due to limited places. To book please see the Riverside/Glan-yr-afon events page.

Hélène Rouart in her Father’s Study forms the centrepiece in the exhibition drawn from the National Welsh Portrait Collection at The National Library of Wales, which will be held at the Riverside Gallery, Haverfordwest. The exhibition will be open from 14 May – 3 September 2022 and will run alongside the current exhibition Pembrokeshire: Past & Present.

For further information about the exhibition or The Riverside itself, please see the Riverside webpage and Facebook page or contact the Riverside Library on 01437 775244.
