Seasonal Exhibition

10 October 2026 - 31 December 2026

The exhibition includes items from various collections of the National Library to mark 60 years since the Aberfan Disaster in 1966.

It includes items digitised for a new webpage that brings together items from the National Library collections telling the story of the disaster and the response to it. You can view the digital content on the webpage here: Aberfan Disaster 1966 - National Library of Wales

Included is a fine calligraphy copy of the Bethania Aberfan Memorial Book which lists the names of those who lost their lives in the disaster.
We will display an especially commissioned poem by Grug Muse alongside a special plan of Aberfan created after the disaster.
A selection of items from the Karl Jenkins archive are included, with a personal copy of the composer’s score of the Cantata Memoria. For the children – Er mwyn y plant (2016).
